Who’s invited to the Fling?
Fairmount residents, Fairmount business patrons, partners and friends of Fairmount CDC (FCDC), and the greater Philadelphia community.
Why should I register early?
Registering early saves you $10 on purchasing tickets at the door, and there will be express check-in at the event for early registrants.
Can I view auction items before the event?
Yes, we will post some auction items online. Please note that the online list will not be all-inclusive.
What is the purpose of the Fling?
- To bring the community together
- To raise awareness and funding for FCDC projects
- To promote local businesses and groups
- To have FUN!
Where does the money go?
All proceeds benefit the Fairmount Community Development Corporation and related neighborhood groups and causes. Previous Flings have helped support:
- A new community playground
- Improvements to neighborhood parks and public spaces
- Greening efforts such as the planting of over 200 trees
- Arts initiatives such as a local mural, a tour of local artists' studios and the Arts Crawl, a wonderful neighborhood event providing a day of art and performances
- Start up of the Fairmount Area Business Association to assist local business owners and entrepreneurs and promote local shopping
- Commercial and residential improvements to the neighborhood
- A new computer library facility and materials for use by local school children
